A DMG file is a disk image in Mac OS X (similar to ISO) and its opening is not supported in any existing version of Windows. In OS X, these files are mounted by simply double clicking on the file. However, access to DMG content is also possible in Windows.
Simple DMG discovery with 7-zip
The free 7-Zip archiver can, among other things, open DMG files. Only extracting contained files from the image is supported (you cannot mount a disk, convert it or add files). However, for most tasks, when you need to view the contents of a DMG, 7-Zip is fine. Just select in the main menu File - Open and specify the path to the file.

- UltraISO - a popular program for working with images allows, among other things, to convert DMG to another format. (Not free)
In fact, there are still a dozen disk image conversion utilities on the Internet, but almost all the ones I found showed the presence of unwanted software in VirusTotal, and therefore I decided to limit myself to those mentioned above.

- DMG Extractor - formerly a completely free program that allows you to quickly extract the contents of a DMG file. Now on the official website there are two versions and the main limitation of the free one is that it works with files no larger than 4 GB.
- HFSExplorer - this free utility allows you to browse the contents of disks with the HFS + file system used on Mac and with its help you can also open DMG files with no size limit.
