IMDG Code Amendment 39-18 CD-ROM IMDG Code. The IMDG Code, 2018 Edition (inc. Amendment39-18) comes into force on 1 January 2020 for two years and may be applied voluntarily as from 1 January 2019. The IMDGCode, 2016 Edition Amendment 38-16 came into force on 1 January 2018 for two years. If you have purchased the electronic editions, namely, IMDG Code for Windows (Version 14), 2018 and the Electronic IMDG Code for Windows download (Version 14), 2018 will need to update their versions from this web-page in due course. IMDG code Amendment 39-18 entered into force on 1 January 2019. The regulations of this amendment can be used parallel with Amendment 38-16. Application of the Amendment 38-16 regulations will end on 31 December 2019, after which only the regulations according to IMDG code Amendment 39-18 will be mandatory in force.

We would like to point out that the shippers/consignors are responsible for ensuring that dangerous goods offered for shipment are classified and declared in accordance with the valid regulations. The shipper* must also ensure that the dangerous substances are packed, marked and documented, and the cargo transport units placarded according to the IMDG Code.
